The Gates family has some excel-lent news.
Jennifer Gates Nassar, Bill Gates’ eldest daughter with ex-wife Melinda French Gates, announced that she's pregnant and expecting her second baby with her husband Nayel Nassar.
Alongside the June 27 photo of herself in a blue dress holding hands with her and Nayel’s 16-month-old daughter Leila, Jennifer shared that her eldest was “being promoted to big sister.”
Melinda couldn’t help but gush over the news in the comments, writing, “I couldn’t be more excited for you, Nayel, and Leila! Love you.”
Meanwhile, Jennifer’s husband, an Olympic equestrian, shared a snap in his horseriding uniform next to his wife. He captioned the post, “Baby #2 entering the chat.”
The couple, who tied the knot in 2021, welcomed baby Leila in March 2023, making her Bill and Melinda’s first grandchild.
And since Leila joined the family, Melinda—who also shares kids Phoebe Gates, 21, and son Rory Gates, 24, with the Microsoft co-founder—has taken grandparenthood in stride.
“Becoming ‘Nonna’ has made me reflect on the wonderful example my own parents set for how to be an engaged and loving grandparent,” the 59-year-old wrote on Instagram in January. “I hope I can be as great of a grandparent to Leila as my parents are to my kids. So thankful for them both!”
As for Bill, 68, he’s loving how being a grandpa changed his perspective on life.
“Becoming a grandparent has given me a whole new lens to see the world through,” he shared in September with a photo of him reading to Leila. “It keeps me motivated to ensure my granddaughter—and all our grandchildren—inherit a better world than they were born into.”
